Forever Stamps

February 13th, 2008 at 10:58 pm

I bought the last 2 books for Forever stamps from the office administrator, since I found out the Post Office is rising rates on May 12. By buying today, I save 40 cents in 89 days. That is about a 10% annual return. Sweet.

I might have to take a trip to the Post Office when they print up more Forever stamps.

These rate increases are a pain in the butt. The forever stamp is a good idea, but hasn't helped me at all. I don't use that many stamps, maybe 6 or 7 each month. I still have 37-cent stamps that I have to add two 2-centers to. I also have some 39s that I add one 2-cent to. Now, I'm going to have to get penny stamps. Pretty soon, there won't be any room on the envelope to write the address.

steve, you use way more than me. i think i send like 3 letters a month in bills. from what I hear regarding postage, based on a new federal law, they might be adjusting the postage every year for inflation, which could mean a penny a year.
