$190 Poker win

March 30th, 2008 at 07:07 am

Played in a small poker game last night with 12 others. After a dragged out up and down night I was able to pull out the win and take the $190 1st prize for a $20 buy-in and I didn't have to rebuy. Sweet, now if Kansas and win the tournament, I have a good chance of taking that pot.

Congrats. Always nice to come home a winner. Unfortunately, my last two casino trips have gone the other way.

Congrats. Remember, you also need to report losses(:

nance - You don't exactly need to report losses but you can claim them against winnings. So if you do report gambling winnings, you can deduct losses.

Well this was a multi-table game amongst friends rather than at a Casino, so no 1099 will be issued.

steve's right. you can offset gambling losses against any winnings. for years i've save the losing lottery tickets from the company pool hopely in case I would need them for a big payday. hasn't happened yet.
